TANGKAHAN JUNGLE ADVENTURES

Welcome to Tangkahan, North Sumatra—known as “the hidden paradise.” Bordering Gunung Leuser National Park, this is a place where you can encounter wildlife such as orangutans, monkeys, wild elephants, and many other species. Beyond its wildlife, the area offers numerous attractions, including natural hot springs that well up directly from the earth, as well as waterfalls and crystal-clear rivers known locally as the Buluh and Batang rivers.

Our goal is simple: to help you experience the jungle in the right way while respecting and protecting the nature and communities that make Tangkahan so special.

Come explore, slow down, breathe in the jungle, and discover the wild side of Sumatra with us.

Tangkahan Jungle Adventures is a 100% locally owned and managed team. When you message or email us, you are talking to a local who has spent their whole lives immersed in jungle life and knows it better than anyone.  Our management is local, our guides and drivers are locals, which means every activity you support feeds directly back into our amazing Tangkahan community.

We pride ourselves on being honest, authentic, and offering true value for money. You can trust us to offer adventures truly worth experiencing — such as ethical respectful trekking to see wild elephants (our highlight), exploring the local village, and much more.
