1 Night Jungle Trek in Tangkahan Sumatra

This 2-day, 1-night adventure takes you into the rainforest with an experienced local guide, where you’ll trek through the jungle, learn about the forest and wildlife around you, and spend a night camping in the heart of nature.

SCEDULE

Day 1 — Jungle Trek & Riverside Camping
  •     08:30 – Start the trek
    • Meet your local jungle guide in Tangkahan.
    • Begin walking into the jungle.
    • Follow natural jungle trails through the jungle.
  • Morning – Continue into the jungle
    • Trek through the same jungle route used for the full-day trek.
    • Learn about the forest, plants and wildlife from your local guide.
    • Look for monkeys, birds, orangutan, animal tracks and other signs of wildlife.
    • Stop along the way for short breaks and tropical fruit.
  • Afternoon – Arrive at the riverside campsite
    • Continue deeper into the jungle until reaching the camping area beside the river.
    • Your guide will provide camp for you
    • Relax by the river and enjoy the surroundings.
    • Take a swim in the river if conditions are suitable.
  • Evening – Dinner and jungle night
    • Enjoy dinner at the campsite.
    • Spend the evening beside the river and experience the rainforest after dark.
    • Listen to the sounds of the jungle before settling down for the night.
    • Short evening trek if you fell like to ( Otional)
  • Overnight – Camping beside the river
    • Sleep in a simple jungle campsite beside the river.
    • Camping facilities are basic and this is a genuine jungle experience rather than a hotel-style stay.

Day 2 — Jungle Trek & Riverside Camping
  • Morning – Breakfast and pack up
    • Have breakfast at the campsite.
    • Pack your belongings and prepare for the second day of trekking.
  • Morning – Continue trekking
    • Leave the campsite and continue through the jungle toward Bat Cave.
    • Explore another section of the jungle with your local guide.
    • Continue looking for wildlife and learning about the jungle along the way.
  • Around midday – Explore Bat Cave
    • Arrive at Bat Cave.
    • Explore the natural cave with your guide.
    • It takes about an hour to explore the bat cave.
    • See the bats and other creatures living inside the cave.
    • The cave can be dark, wet and slippery.
  • Lunch – In the jungle
    • Enjoy lunch beside the river in the rainforest.
    • Take some time to relax after the morning trek.
  • After lunch – Natural hot spring
    • Visit the natural hot spring near the river.
    • Relax before starting the journey back to Tangkahan.
  • Afternoon – River tubing
    • Start the journey back toward Tangkahan by inner tube (Verry Fun).
    • Float downstream through the jungle.
    • Enjoy the river and jungle scenery along the way.
  • Finish – Back in Tangkahan
    • Leave the river and return to your hotel area.
    • End of the 1-night jungle trekking adventure.

  • The trek involves several hours of walking on natural jungle trails.
  • Expect uneven ground, roots, rocks, mud and some uphill and downhill sections.
  • The second day continues with several hours of trekking before reaching Bat Cave.
  • A reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
